Side note: Copenhagen is very walkable (I walked everywhere, despite the December cold), and the subway system is efficient and mostly affordable for transportation between neighborhoods.
This post was originally going to detail all the cool things I saw and did in Copenhagen, but I’ve decided to narrow it down to my favorite topic for this article:

Fredericiagade 57, 1310 København, Denmark
This cafe and eatery is located in the FRAMA design gallery. It is a short subway ride away from Copenhagen’s City center, and if you’re someone who appreciates design and authenticity, this is worth the extra steps out of the way. Out of all the cafes I walked to in the city center, this one captures the community and soul of Copenhagen in special way.
#2. FRama
Fredericiagade 57, 1310 København, Denmark
FRAMA calls itself a furniture store, but it more like an apothecary with twist. It is an aesthete’s paradise and a place designer’s would go to for inspiration. The apothecary soaps, oils, and lotions are more on the expensive side, but that doesn’t mean you can’t grab a coffee at their cafe (Apotek 57) for a laid back stroll through their beautifully curated rooms.
#3. ATELIER SEPTEMBER
Kronprinsessegade 62, 1306 København, Denmark
A few things about Atelier September: First, it is technically a breakfast spot (founded by chef Frederik Bille Brahe), but it is the ONLY place in Copenhagen that served me my latte in large ceramic bowl–so it deserves to make the list for best cafes. Second, this place may possibly be a Pinterest Board come to life. With fresh-cut flowers, croissants on dainty doilies, water served in a ceramic pitcher–and a newspaper to read while you wait for the bathroom, it is a perfect representation of enjoying life’s simple pleasures to the fullest. The only downside is the line that forms outside (I’m not the only one to find this place charming), so visiting in the Spring or Summer might be optimal as I ended up battling December winds just to get inside to that large latte in a bowl.
P.s. It is definitely worth the wait, and is right around the corner from FRAMA & APOTEK 57.

#4. central hotel & cafe
Tullinsgade 1, 1618 København, Denmark
Never underestimate the charm of a well-hidden Café. Located in the bottom of the world’s smallest hotel (it only has one room, and yes, anyone can rent it), this is where all the locals go for their morning cup of brew. There isn’t much sitting room, but it is worth the experience and the coffee is great. It is a hearty 20 minute walk from Tivoli Gardens, but there are lots of cute shops tucked in along the way and a great way to explore Copenhagen in a non-touristy way.
#5. ARKET SHOP & CAFE
Møinichen Mansion, Købmagergade 33, 1150 København, Denmark
Located in Strøget, one of the largest walkable shopping areas in Copenhagen, Arket cafe has that clean minimalist vibe that comes along with white walls, and tall French window sills. Attached to the cafe is the Arket shop, an upscale H&M style clothing store. To top it off, it has a beautiful exterior and interior, and…they make a really pretty latte.
