Belles-lettres no.1

Pretty lights inside my mind, the sotto voce of a touch, a hand a face

The Pines of Rome beckoning
Clamoring by a noiseless coast
Where is the proverbial queen of the night,
Has she—fallen into Pandora’s box?

It’s so pretty on the inside
These halls, images, and figures
Serenely aloft is the wafting ballad
There is no contention here

No contention, no noise,
No derision and no demeaning
No competition for honor or love
Here in this unnamed palace

Giver with the pretty eyes
Keep on giving
Giver with the gentle hands
Keep on giving
Giver with the tear-stained cheek
Keep on giving
