5 Ways A Morning ritual

When you hear morning ritual, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Probably not a cup of coffee and a newspaper, right? Well maybe a cup of coffee if you’re lucky, but who has time to read the newspaper?
I wish I had time for both. Oftentimes, showing up to work on time looking presentable is a feat in itself– at least when you’re 23, that is. But when you’re scrambling for your keys and running out the door with one shoe on, how well could the rest of your day possibly go?
Mine doesn’t usually go all that well. At least it didn’t used to until I started taking the idea of a morning ritual more seriously.
So what is a morning ritual?
A morning ritual is unique to each individual and consists of a set of actions or routines that are tailored around your specific likings and needs. It could be making a hot cup of tea or coffee and sitting down for a simple, but thoughtfully prepared breakfast. It could also be jotting a few lines in your journal (check out one of my favorite journals here), or taking a quick stretch before heading out.
I believe that behind every successful day is someone who has devoted time to a morning ritual–however long or short it is.
Ways a morning ritual will add to your life:
1. It will help you start your day with more intention and less chaos.
2. It will reduce your stress levels.
3. It will give you something enjoyable to look forward to…every morning!
4. It will help you show up as your best self: more balanced, calm, and confident.
5. (In reference to number 4): Showing up as your best self will yield over-all more positive results in both your private and public life.
